Dr. Blizzard has been a Pharmacist for 27 years. He has a wide range of experiences in pharmacy and health care which he calls upon daily in his care for patients at Plexus Health. He grew up in Nebraska and Oklahoma, always wanting to be a health care professional, which eventually led him to become a Pharmacist. Before graduating pharmacy school at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in 1993, he met his wife, who is a Clinical Pharmacist, and they settled in her home state of South Carolina. They have four children with only one remaining at home as she finishes up high school. Dr. Blizzard’s experiences include being a College Professor, Retail Pharmacist (including owner), Compounding Pharmacist (owner), FQHC/340B Pharmacy Director (here at Plexus), Health System Pharmacist (VAMC), Consultant to Health Systems and Manufacturers, Clinical Applications Team Leader, and formerly a Certified Diabetes Educator. His interests outside of work include leading and participating in medical missions, youth missions, serving in his church, enjoying water-sports and other outdoor activities, watching his kids run cross-country and track, watching movies, and finding time to relax with his wife. He states that it is his professional and personal privilege to serve as a resource to his patients and the other members of the health care team here at Plexus Health.
Sony has been a licensed Pharmacist for well over 26 years in the United States and 5+ years overseas. He is well-trained in clinical pharmacy areas such as diabetes management, hypertension and stroke prevention, cardiovascular care including cholesterol, and atrial fibrillation management. He has attended numerous conferences over the years, obtaining special skills along the way, which equip him to assist our customers. He has been certified in pharmacy-based immunization since 2005. Sony has experience in all areas of pharmacy practice, including community, hospital, long term care, compounding, regulatory, and consultation. He has dedicated his life to community practice, where he has helped a great number of patients.
